I love a good love story which is why I want to be involved in helping create yours!
My own love story started 29 years ago. I was working at a local rest home and noticed the good-looking young apprentice Plumber. On a hot Taranaki Summer day, I offered him an ice block… the rest is not history, it is still very much in the now and our love story is still going strong. Kelvin proposed to me at the Mountain House Taranaki and I was fortunate to have my own father officiate our wedding. Yes, Kelvin did make it through his apprenticeship all those years ago and now is Co-Owner of Evergreen Plumbing, here locally in Hawera.
If you ask anyone that knows me they will tell you “I am BIG on WHĀNAU” (Family). Kelvin and I have two Adult children, Matthias and Carly, who are both married and have blessed us with six Mokopunas (Grand Children), Eli, Larney, Eleanor, Ava-Lee, Jethro & Stevee. They all bring us so much joy and we feel so blessed to be called Nanny and Koko.
My passion is to host people in our home, from welcoming friends for dinner or drinks to enjoying our regular Sunday night roasts with the Whānau. I even opened our home further, listing it with Airbnb to ‘host within our home’. Have a peek at our listing, and then you can see what people say about us too!!
My past experience as a Travel Agent planted a desire to continue connecting people to have experiences of their own.
